Answer: Winston Churchill
Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of England, sent Cripps Mission to India in 1942.
The Cripps Mission was a failed attempt by the British government to secure full Indian cooperation and support for their efforts in World War II. The mission was headed by a senior minister Sir Stafford Cripps.
Cripps promised to grant Dominion status and a Constitution-making body after the war whose members would be elected by the provincial assemblies and nominated by the rulers in the Princely States. All the political leaders rejected the proposal of Cripps, and the Cripps Mission failed.
