The father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi along with Anasuya Sarabhai and Shankarlal Banker founded the Ahmadabad Textile Labour Association (Majdoor Mahajan Sangh), India’s oldest union of textile workers, in 1920. Anasuya Sarabhai was made it’s lifelong president by Mahatma Gandhi.
Anasuya Sarabhai was the aunt of Indian scientist Vikram Sarabhai who is regarded as the father of the Indian space program.
